Immigration Paralegal Position at JFCS Immigration Legal Services in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Hybrid)

Position Summary:
- Work directly with staff attorneys and unaccompanied children to file immigration applications
- Requires Spanish proficiency and travel to children residing in facilities in Western Pennsylvania and other nearby locations

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interview children, prepare immigration applications, and gather supporting evidence
- Respond to inquiries on the Spanish Language Intake Line
- Prepare and file applications to USCIS and Immigration and Family Court
- Correspond with clients and their sponsors
- Collect and enter data
- Maintain client immigration files
- Communicate professionally with clients, staff, and government officials
- Participate in staff development and training
- Submit timesheets and attend meetings and training courses
- Cover for other staff on leave

• Correspond with clients and their sponsors
• Collect and enter data in the appropriate systems to track metrics and outcomes
• Maintain client immigration files, both paper and electronic
• Communicate professionally with clients, staff, and government officials
• Participate in staff development and training opportunities
• Submit timesheets and attend meetings and training courses
• Cover for other staff on leave
• Travel to shelters to provide Know Your Rights presentations and legal screenings for unaccompanied children when needed
