Paralegal position at national defense law firm in Berkeley Heights, NJ

Experience and skills required:

• At least 2-3 years of litigation and trial experience
• Paralegal certificate
• Professional and pleasant demeanor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to process and follow up on Subpoenas
• Ability to communicate with experts and prepare materials for expert witness review
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• High level of computer competency, including Microsoft Office Suite and other legal software
• Trial preparation experience, including exhibit preparation and document review
• Ability to redact and organize documents
• Reliable and punctual with excellent attendance

Responsibilities:

• Support attorneys in all aspects of case management
• Pre-trial preparation
• Summarizing medical records, depositions, and employment records
• Assistance with discovery work up
• Trial preparation, including exhibit preparation and witness materials
• Assembling chronologies of key documents
• Reviewing and organizing document productions from opposing parties and co-defendants
• Redacting and organizing claim files, medical records, police reports, emails, etc.
• Preparing materials for expert witness review
• Working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
