Job description:

- Seeking an attorney for the position of Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Special Federal Litigation Division of the NYC Law Department
- Defend the City and its officials in civil rights cases brought in federal court
- Handle a caseload from inception through resolution, including motion practice, settlement, and trial
- Conduct initial investigations, answer complaints, attend court conferences, engage in discovery, take and defend depositions, draft motions, and negotiate settlements
- Minimum qualifications include two years of litigation experience, admission to practice law in New York State, and admission or eligibility for immediate admission to the SDNY and EDNY
- Public Service Loan Forgiveness and state repayment assistance programs may be available
- New York City Residency is not required for this position
