Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, and probate proceedings.
  • Draft, review, and revise estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Conduct client meetings to understand their estate planning goals and provide tailored legal solutions.
  • Represent clients in probate and trust administration matters, including court appearances as needed.
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive estate plans.
  • Stay updated on state and federal laws affecting estate planning and taxation.
  • Manage and prioritize a diverse caseload while meeting deadlines and firm objectives.
  • Participate in firm marketing activities, including seminars, workshops, and client outreach initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Nebraska State Bar.
  • 2-8 years of experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Nebraska estate planning laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
  • Additional coursework or certifications in tax or elder law are a plus.

Certifications:

  • An active license to practice law in Nebraska is mandatory.
  • Certification as an Estate Planning Specialist (if applicable) is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
