Wilson Elser is currently seeking an experienced Attorney to join our growing national Cyber Security & Data Privacy practice. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney interested in the intersection of law and technology, particularly in the field of data breaches and incident response. Position Overview

As a Cyber Security & Breach Response Attorney, you will handle data breaches and incident response for our clients. This role requires a JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the state of Washington . You should also have at least 2 years of legal experience and a demonstrated interest in data privacy and security. Knowledge of data breach and privacy laws, such as HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, and GDPR, is required. An IT or technical background is a plus. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a team.

Responsibilities

As a Cyber Security & Breach Response Attorney, your responsibilities will include:

- Handling incident response for cybersecurity and data privacy incidents
- Analyzing state, federal, and international privacy laws
- Drafting legal notices of a data breach to individuals and regulators
- Responding to regulatory investigations arising out of a data breach
- Defending privacy lawsuits
- Drafting privacy and security policies and procedures pursuant to HIPAA, GLBA, CCPA, and other statutes

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

- A JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice in the state of Washington .
- 2+ years of legal experience
- Demonstrated interest or coursework in data privacy and security
- Knowledge of data breach and privacy laws (HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, GDPR, etc.)
- IT or technical background a plus
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team player
