## Paralegal

Paralegals provide legal and administrative support to the Associate General Counsel and other members of the Legal Department. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining legal files and pleadings, subpoenas, garnishments, and other regulatory matters.

**Major Activities:**

- Conduct and manage discovery as directed, including performing initial investigations into claims made against the Company, conducting interviews, preparing discovery responses, and ensuring information provided is complete, accurate, and timely
- Respond independently to subpoenas, requests for personnel records, small claims court matters, etc. Prepare affidavits, declarations, exhibits, and other necessary documents for responses/court filings, under supervision of counsel
- Perform legal research, interact with senior level management and others to gather facts, participate in witness interviews, analyze documentary evidence, present findings, and make recommendations on next steps. Prepare materials for case preparation. Organize interview memos, digests, and other relevant documents. Create and maintain electronic pleading/correspondence files. Maintain panel counsel list. Provide other litigation support as necessary
- Communicate with outside counsel and internal clients; participate in/independently manage special projects; assist counsel with other matters as assigned. Assist with annual insurance renewal information requests. Provide support to attorneys in the coordination, implementation, and management of projects, policies, procedures, practices, and training
- Develop and maintain legal files, legal reports, and calendars
- Support day-to-day administrative matters, drafting correspondence/reports, file maintenance, responding to inquiries from outside the Company, and processing incoming mail. Assist other members of Legal Department as needed

**Minimum Education:** Associates degree or paralegal certificate

**Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills:** Fluency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), eDiscovery databases, and e­ billing

**Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires:** 5+ years of law firm or in-house corporate paralegal with Litigation/Employment experience required; knowledge of methods and techniques of legal research and analysis; knowledge of standard legal department practices, procedures, and systems, including file and document management
