Bullet Points: - Full-time Tax Paralegal position available with Williams Mullen in Norfolk or Virginia Beach, VA - Competitive salary offered - Opportunity to work with a well-respected and diverse law firm - 3+ years of experience in trusts & estates and working in a law firm environment preferred - Bachelor's degree and/or related paralegal certificate preferred - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required - Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and files on an ongoing basis Key Responsibilities: - Establish and maintain strong relationships with various professionals involved in the process of administering trusts and estates - Draft tax returns and related documentation for property transfers and distributions - Coordinate income and principal distributions from trusts and transfer of assets into trusts - Maintain financial records for trusts - Prepare schedule of allocations to trusts under will - Distribute trust assets at termination of the trust - Prepare all necessary paperwork for admitting testamentary documents to court and qualification of personal representative - Determine location and titling of decedent's assets and assist with collection and valuation - Maintain records for estate investments - Draft or assist with drafting various legal documents for transfer and distribution of assets to beneficiaries - Real estate background and experience with general corporate and tax filings a plus Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree and/or related paralegal certificate preferred - 3+ years of experience in trusts & estates and working in a law firm environment - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and files on an ongoing basis Equal Opportunity Employer: Williams Mullen is committed to building a culturally diverse workforce and is an equal opportunity employer.
