The Patents and Innovations Group at Wilson Sonsini is seeking a talented and driven individual to join our team as a Patent Agent in the field of engineering. With a salary range of $145,000 - $210,000, based on step level, and a wide range of benefits, including monthly wellness reimbursements and 24/7 emotional and behavioral health support, this is an exciting opportunity for those with a background in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML), or related disciplines.

Responsibilities for this role include working with our clients in all aspects of patent prosecution, evaluating invention disclosures, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, and conducting landscape studies. As a patent agent, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with patent attorneys and receive both formal and informal training and mentorship. To be considered for this position, candidates must be qualified to sit for the USPTO patent bar and are required to take and pass the exam prior to starting at the firm. Previous law firm or industry experience is a plus, and those with LSAT scores and imminent plans to attend law school are strongly preferred. Relocation is not available, and search firm submissions will not be accepted.
