The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is looking for a highly skilled and motivated attorney to join our team as an Assistant Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Section in Kansas City. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex and high-profile cases that have a direct impact on the lives of Missourians.
As part of the Consumer Protection Section, you will have the opportunity to handle a variety of civil litigation and criminal prosecutions, including white collar crime, deceptive business practices, financial exploitation, and identity theft. You will also have the chance to work on civil enforcement actions and investigations at both the state and multistate level, often collaborating with other State Attorneys General offices and federal partners.
In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the legal process, including courtroom appearances, grand jury proceedings, trial work, pre-filing investigations, discovery, motion practice, and depositions. You will also have the opportunity to draft civil petitions and criminal charges, negotiate settlements, and work with state court rules and procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Handle complex and high-profile civil litigation and criminal prosecutions in the Consumer Protection Section
- Prosecute white collar crime, deceptive business practices, financial exploitation, and identity theft at the state level
- Conduct investigations at the state and multistate level, often collaborating with other State Attorneys General offices and federal partners
- Bring civil enforcement actions and seek restraining orders, injunctions, and restitution to protect the health and safety of Missourians
- Resolve claims through settlement
- Draft civil petitions and criminal charges
- Handle all aspects of the legal process, including courtroom appearances, grand jury proceedings, trial work, pre-filing investigations, discovery, motion practice, and depositions
- Negotiate settlements and work with state court rules and procedures
- Commit to public service and making a positive impact on the community
- Demonstrate excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in Missouri
- Relevant experience and education will be considered for an interview
- Courtroom, grand jury, and trial experience preferred
- Familiarity with state court rules and procedures, including bankruptcy
- Commitment to public service and making a positive impact on the community
- Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills
