Job Title: Visiting Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of the Practice of Law
Job Responsibilities:
The **Members Only** is seeking applications and nominations for at least one visiting professor for the 2025-2026 academic year. The position offers flexibility in terms of duration, allowing for either a one-semester (fall or spring) or a full academic-year visitorship depending on the courses taught. The appointment can be at the rank of Visiting Assistant, Visiting Associate, or Visiting Full Professor, contingent on the candidate's experience.
Alternatively, candidates may be considered for the Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) program, which involves a four-semester residency at the law school from Fall 2025 through Spring 2027. This program provides teaching experience and the opportunity for substantial engagement in research, writing, and other scholarly activities. VAPs can present their work in progress to the faculty and receive feedback and mentoring to prepare for the academic job market. Course loads and teaching schedules are designed with consideration for the job market process.
The primary teaching interests for any visiting professor applicant should include one or both of the following subjects: Wills & Estates (Trusts & Estates) and Family Law.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess a . degree from an ABA-accredited law school and demonstrate a commitment to teaching in an environment that emphasizes excellence in teaching and mentoring students. Applicants should have a distinguished academic background and exhibit either great promise or a record of excellence in both scholarship and teaching.
