SUMMARY:
Nikon Metrology, Inc. is seeking a temporary Legal and Compliance Counsel to provide legal support to the business for a six (6) month fixed-term assignment. The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in Michigan with 2-3 years of experience in commercial and contract law, public procurement, IT/IP law, and privacy law. The role will be located at the NMI Brighton Michigan facility and will report to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Nikon Metrology NV (HQ).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review, negotiate, and prepare contracts with clients, partners, and suppliers
- Advise on various types of transactions and support sales and delivery
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Participate in decisions on strategy, commercial policy, and specific transactions
- Develop and enforce corporate policies and procedures
- Monitor and ensure compliance with regulations related to data protection, government regulations, and export control
- Mitigate risks and manage litigation
- Instruct and manage external counsels
- Manage insurance and export regulations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in Michigan
- 2-3 years of experience in commercial and contract law, public procurement, IT/IP law, and privacy law
