A well-established law firm is seeking a seasoned Partner-Level Attorney with deep expertise in Environmental Law. This role is tailored for a legal professional with a minimum of six years’ experience advising clients on environmental regulatory compliance, permitting, transactional support, and enforcement matters. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge across a range of environmental issues, including hazardous materials, land use, wetlands, and air quality, and will play a key role in guiding clients through complex environmental challenges affecting business operations and development projects.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on environmental regulatory compliance and risk management

  • Support corporate and real estate transactions through environmental due diligence and assessment

  • Advise on permitting matters, including wetlands, coastal, and air quality permits

  • Represent clients in enforcement actions and administrative proceedings involving environmental agencies

  • Assist with hazardous materials issues and contaminated site remediation

  • Navigate complex land use projects, including zoning, permitting, and community engagement

  • Draft, review, and negotiate environmental terms in commercial and real estate agreements

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including environmental consultants and technical experts

Requirements

  • Minimum of six years of experience practicing environmental law in a law firm or corporate legal department

  • Demonstrated experience in environmental permitting, compliance, enforcement, and transactional support

  • Ability to manage complex environmental matters independently and lead legal strategy

  • Proven ability to foster client relationships and contribute to business development

  • Experience working with federal, state, and local environmental regulatory bodies

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in one or more . jurisdictions

  • Compliance with continuing legal education (CLE) requirements

  • Deep understanding of environmental law, regulations, and policy frameworks

  • Strong analytical and legal research skills

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
