Job Summary:

Description:
- Responsible for managing a multi-faceted patent portfolio for ZOLL's Acute Care Technology Division.
- Prepare and prosecute patent applications in the United States and overseas.
- Serve as a key interface with business leaders for strategic IP matters.
- Collaborate with engineers and technical staff to identify and review ideas for patentability.
- Report to ZOLL's Senior Intellectual Property Counsel for the Acute Care Technology Division.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic patent portfolio management
- Preparation and prosecution of patent applications
- Product clearance and intellectual property due diligence
Education and Experience:
- BA Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience required
- JD with 5+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background preferred
- Must be registered to practice before the . Patent and Trademark Office
- Must have a background in medical devices and mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and/or software
- 3-5 years' experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications with a law firm or corporation
- Previous experience in managing patent portfolios, either as in-house or law firm patent counsel
- Ability to draft patent applications in coordination with inventors preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to understand, analyze, and communicate complex technologies in oral and written form
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with intellectual property due diligence and product clearance preferred
- Experience as a Patent Examiner and/or patent searcher preferred
- Experience managing a trademark portfolio preferred
