Job Summary:

Nixon Peabody, a leading full-service law firm, is seeking a Patent Litigation Counsel to join our Intellectual Property Practice Group. The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten years of experience in patent litigation and must be admitted to the USPTO. This role is available in multiple offices, including Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, and New York City. Salary and Benefits:

- Annual salary ranges from $350,000 in major cities such as Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, and New York City.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare complex cases for trial, from case initiation to closing arguments and through appeal.
- Draft and respond to pleadings, prepare infringement and invalidity claim charts, and participate in Markman and claim construction proceedings.
- Conduct patent-specific fact and expert discovery, inter partes reviews, and overall litigation strategy.
- Oversee and train junior associates.
- Communicate and negotiate with opposing counsel.
- Prepare for and conduct depositions and trials, including exhibit lists, evidentiary objections, and witness preparation.
- Draft Federal Circuit appeal briefs.

Requirements:

- Minimum of ten years of patent litigation experience.
- Admitted to the USPTO.
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or substantial experience litigating matters in these or similar disciplines.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Excellent judgment and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing excellent client services.
