A respected Portland-based boutique law firm is seeking a full-time Entry-Level Associate Attorney to join its team in defending Oregon Workers’ Compensation claims. This position provides the opportunity to work directly with experienced attorneys in a supportive, mentorship-driven environment. It is ideal for a recent law school graduate, new admittee to the Oregon Bar, or a candidate who recently sat for the bar exam and is seeking to develop litigation and administrative hearing experience in a focused practice area.

Assist in the defense of workers’ compensation claims on behalf of employer clients
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and other pleadings
Review and analyze case files, medical records, and claim histories
Attend administrative hearings and depositions
Prepare case evaluations and assist in litigation strategy development
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and claims representatives
Maintain organized case files and track deadlines
Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal support staff on active cases
Interest in workers’ compensation law or insurance defense
Willingness to develop litigation and negotiation skills in a specialized practice area
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
Strong commitment to learning and professional growth
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active member in good standing with the Oregon State Bar
Recent bar examinees awaiting results are encouraged to apply
Strong legal writing and research skills
Clear and professional verbal and written communication
Analytical thinking with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
Organized and capable of managing deadlines in a fast-paced setting
