Job Title:
AVP, Associate General Counsel, North American Legal & Compliance Group

Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as legal counsel to underwriters by providing advice and guidance regarding policy interpretation, claim trends, and insurance laws and regulations.
- Develop and draft/revise a variety of documents, including new insurance policies, endorsements, applications, and related materials.
- Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes and assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
- Respond to underwriters’ requests for coverage analysis of policy form and endorsement language.
- Apprise underwriters of judicial and legislative developments affecting their lines of business.
- Review and amend non-disclosure agreements, as requested by underwriters.
- Assist underwriters in the negotiation of policy language with brokers and other policyholder representatives.

Education and Experience Information:
- Law degree and admission in at least one state.
- 2-4 years of legal experience.
- In-house or law firm insurance coverage experience required.
- Product development and coverage issues experience required.
- Ability to work independently and meet short deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Strong analytical and technical skill sets.
- Ability to quickly understand key business issues and operational objectives.
- Effective and confident communicators of complex messages (written and oral) to both internal and external audiences.
- Environmental insurance experience preferred.

Salary Information:
$105,000 - $140,000
The annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below the listed range and is determined by a number of considerations, including but not limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one component of the company's comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.
