Job Overview:
A prominent law firm headquartered in New York City seeks an experienced Estate Administration Partner through a legal recruiting agency. This role involves both legal expertise and leadership within the Estate Administration department. The position is ideal for a senior attorney with a proven ability to oversee complex estate matters, manage a high-performing team, and contribute to the growth strategy of a forward-thinking legal practice. While the role is based in New York City, hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage the operations of the Estate Administration department

  • Oversee workflow, client engagement, internal processes, and mentorship initiatives

  • Handle a portfolio of intricate, high-value estate matters throughout New York and beyond

  • Guide and support junior attorneys and administrative staff

  • Participate in strategic planning and implementation of department goals

  • Promote and uphold strong client relationships and the firm's standards of excellence

  • Actively engage in client development, branding, and professional networking efforts

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience managing estate administration cases in New York Surrogate’s Courts

  • Demonstrated leadership in supervising legal teams and delegating responsibilities

  • Strong ability to manage sophisticated client matters independently

  • A record of proactive problem-solving and structured process implementation

  • Commitment to high-quality service delivery and maintaining client confidence

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Admission to the New York State Bar

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing membership with the New York State Bar

Skills:

  • Deep technical knowledge in estate administration and related tax implications

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication abilities

  • Capacity for mentorship, leadership, and team development

  • Strategic thinking, marketing aptitude, and business development mindset

  • Comfortable using legal practice technology platforms and tools
