Job Title: Academic Services Officer I/II - Law School

Job Responsibilities:
The Academic Services Officer I/II at the Law School is a crucial role focused on directing the law school's academic success programming. The individual will report to the Assistant Dean of Law Student Affairs and is responsible for providing personalized advice and counseling to law students on various academic and nonacademic issues that impact their success and experiences at the Law School. Key responsibilities include:

- Advising students on course selection, disability accommodations, academic regulations, procedures, and degree requirements.
- Coordinating with the Law School's Admissions Office, Office of Career Success, and faculty to identify and address barriers to student success.
- Identifying and offering interventions to students facing academic challenges.
- Staying informed about trends in higher education and legal academia related to academic success and support services.
- Developing and implementing academic support programs to enhance skills such as time management, note-taking, outlining, and examination preparation.
- Collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure compliance with academic regulations and degree requirements.
- Providing program support and leadership on various projects and initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Collecting data and preparing reports to evaluate the effectiveness of student academic support programs.
- Serving ex officio on assigned Law School committees.
- Performing other student-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess a and have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in higher education or relevant experience in academic advising, curricular planning, and student affairs. The position requires excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills, along with the ability to multi-task and efficiently prioritize workload. Candidates should have critical thinking skills and the ability to propose and implement effective solutions to issues. A desire to work within a diverse environment and the ability to show respect and sensitivity toward diverse communities are essential. The ability to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team and to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and students is also required. Strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency in various computer software applications (word processing, communication, presentation, course/learning management) are necessary.

Salary Information:
The compensation type is an annual salary, with the minimum and hire maximum salary to be determined (TBD).

Additional Information:
The position is a regular, full-time job categorized under Academic/Faculty. There is one opening for this role.
