5.Current Employee, more than 1 yearAmazing Workplace, Wonderful Partners, Awesome Co-workers, and Great Benefits!Corporate Paralegal in Laramie, WYRecommendPros- It's a small business so it's a lot more personal, you're not just some faceless cubical drone but a real person.- Wonderful partners that really care about every single employee. And who do everything they can to help every single person grow and succeed as much as possible professionally and personally (where they can).- Great culture within the firm that focuses on community, teamwork, compassion, family, and growth.- Great inter-firm communication. We use a company IM system so you can communicate with anyone anytime you need even if they are in a different office or working remotely. Including the partners, if you need to speak to them about anything they are always willing to schedule a time to sit down and talk. We also have weekly meetings where anyone can bring up any questions or concerns they may have. So very open and communicative!- Amazing benefits! Great healthcare coverage with options for everyone. Free onsite childcare and much much more!- The Partners really understand and care about their employees having a good work-life balance and not only respect it but base work requirements on it.- Fast-growing company so plenty of opportunities for professional development and growth.- Wonderful co-workers who are not only always willing to help others out where they can but are friendly, caring, and fun!- As a law firm that focuses on Nonprofit organizations we get the opportunity to help people make a difference in the world. It's nice to see so many people wanting to help others and to get to be a part of making the world a better place!- Not just work drudgery. The partners really try to make sure to lighten up the workplace & workdays. We have little interoffice games and challenges that really break up the monotony and make things fun. The winners always get some sort of temporary perk (like a prime parking spot for a month) or a small prize, usually one that benefits the community surrounding the office or supporting other local businesses. We also frequently have optional after-work 'happy hours' or little events for everyone. For example, for Halloween, we had a pumpkin carving party and employees could bring their families to join in on the festivites!- Quarterly incentive bonuses for those who go above and beyond!- Just an overall wonderful place to work with some truly amazing people.ConsNo one's perfect and FPLG is no exception. As a fast-growing company that is still fairly small, we have to adapt our processes/procedures and software fairly frequently which can cause some confusion when transitioning from one thing to another. Especially as it occurs so frequently since we are growing so quickly. Also as we grow we have had to move offices and have had to deal with some construction to update or add new office spaces. But in doing so we have larger updated offices which is really a total pro!We also have a pretty close nit interfirm community which is a great thing unless you do not share the same values, goals, morals, work ethics, etc. with the rest of the team. Then you may feel a little out of place when really FPLG just might not be the best place for you personally. This is not the companies fault it might just not be a good fit for everyone which is understandable. For me, this is actually a Pro but as some people may see it as a Con I will list it here instead of above. We are pretty no-nonsense in our communication. We really kind of have to be in this line of work. So we don't beat around the bush so to speak and are all fairly honest and direct with each other. This goes for praise as well as constructive criticism and is the reason we are such a proficient team. So if you are an overly sensitive person or someone who cannot handle constructive criticism you may inaccurately take something that is 100% NOT personal personally. I have been with FPLG for years now and I can personally attest that no employee, current or former, has ever purposely been criticized, reprimanded, or attacked personally by any co-worker or superior. There can sometimes be a smidge of micromanaging, but it usually does not come from a place of condescension or as a reflection of any individual's abilities. The partners just care so much about the firm and its growth and prosperity that they sometimes get a little carried away in some areas. But as long as you are open and communicative with the partners and the rest of the team (which is super easy) then this is usually not an issue.Advice to ManagementContinue to cultivate our great culture and community by hiring like-minded people who will not only fit in but will help build up FPLG so that we can continue to help those wanting to make the world a better place!
