Commitment to the firm fundamentals should continue to be a focus, even when it seems that the fundamentals have become ingrained or obvious.

The firm culture centers around 21 fundamentals that are taken very seriously. Because everyone is expected to strive live by the fundamentals, the workplace culture is unparalleled. I have never felt so supported, encouraged, and emboldened in my career. I look forward to coming to work everyday and to partnering with my colleagues for years to come.

If you do not "buy in" to the firm's 21 Fundamentals, this may not be the place for you.

Keep doing what you do. Keep treating people fairly. Keep promoting the "JW Way." And, keep adding great people to the great people that already populate the firm.

I arrived at Jaburg Wilk five years ago as lateral, non-equity partner, with 25% to 50% of my own business (depending on the year). JW helped me grow my business to the point where we hired an associate to help me two years ago. With apologies to the Army, JW helps you be all you can be. JW provided me with invaluable insight on how to market to obtain clients and how to provide excellent customer service to retain clients. JW has never said no to one of my marketing requests. (Of course, it has asked for the rationale for my requests). JW is a meritocracy. From the top down, you are recognized and paid based on your contributions. If you really want to know what JW is about--then go the the firm's website and read the 21 fundamentals of the "JW Way." I do not know any other firm that has invested the time and resources to formulate, publish, and stand behind its values and culture. Finally, I can't emphasize enough how nice it is to NOT worry about your firm treating or paying you fairly. More often than not, I have been pleasantly surprised with my bonuses, raises, and overall compensation at JW. And, at the very least, I have always thought my compensation is fair.

I can't think of any "worsts." The "worsts" at JW are simply the common "worsts" of practicing law. Yes--you must bill time, you must deal with (sometimes) difficult opposing attorneys, deal with (sometimes) difficult clients, and find time to market too.

Maybe I need to give it some time, but right now what I think would best serve the firm would be to add more accountability into the culture here.

I've been very happy since starting at Jaburg & Wilk a few months ago. Everyone is incredibly friendly and the partners are tremendously knowledgeable. I've been gaining a lot of work experience very quickly.

It seems like accountability is almost nonexistent here. Some of the tenured support staff and senior associates operate within their own spheres of influence. It feels rather cliquish.
