Advice to law firm management: Supervise your lawyers.

Pros: The best of their form is their elaborate office and tea served in an 18th century tea kettle.

Cons: The probate lawyer who handled my fathers estate was reported to the Ohio Bar for his butchered handling and excessive fees charged along with a business relationship with a near bankrupt securities firm where, as trustee, he placed our fathers hard earned money into Bernstein proprietary products. This was a nightmare. 8 years later and we are still trying to get this straighten out after relieving the attorney as trustee and executor.

Partners to Avoid and Why: Roger Lee Shumaker.

Advice to law firm management: Attorneys, whether partner or associate level, with an Entrepreneurial spirit will fit in well. There is a clear focus on developing associates to be able to build a book of business, and partner cross-selling.

Pros: Great firm for attorneys looking to build a book of business and develop a practice. Solid specialist support and partners willing to assist, whether late nights, weekends or holidays. Friendly atmosphere, where partners and associates know each other and their families.

Cons: Entrepreneurial focus can take focus away from associate support. While changing dynamic, there can be a dearth of quality associate support.

Everyone Loves LawCrossing

LawCrossing was probably the best legal board I have used. I liked the layout and it was user friendly. I tried to use another job board, but it was not user friendly and was kind of a pain, whereas LawCrossing was easy to use to find jobs. I really liked it. I would certainly recommend this site and service to my colleagues.
