Everyone is a Partner

Keep attorneys who bring in new clients, don't make everyone a partner, get rid of the attorneys who don't bring in new business.

The office is located in Southfield which does not have a city income tax and is centrally located. Parking is free. Other than that....

The work is mostly insurance defense, rather boring. Everyone is a Partner, only a few Associates. Some attorneys never bring in new clients.

Most of the partners have been here their entire career, which means they don't see outside of their box or see the bigger picture.

It is a job, it is not located in Detroit, I don't have to work very hard to keep a job here.

A Great Law Firm

I would tone down the gossip about other attorneys within the firm, even if it's good gossip. It can lead to a hostile environment, and that would ruin the friendly one at the firm. I think this would allow the firm to keep the laid back environment it has fostered.

I found the other attorneys very welcoming and helpful. The environment is laid back for the type of work the firm does. The support staff is very good at what they do, and your paralegal will be on top of your case load. I always had mentoring throughout my career.

At times there was some gossip. I found that it did not get out of hand, and most of it was industry talk, but at times it did become unprofessional. Overall it was a good firm, barring this issue.
