The Dangers of Getting Jobs Through Friends and Family

I think the higher-ups should really take a good look at the employees they have and try to decide if it's enough. A lot of time we take in new cases and don't have much time to work on them. Even bringing in some interns or some contract employees could really help us keep up with the work we have to do.
I love working here because the firm is small. Everyone knows everybody. We are all a very close knit group of friends, and we even enjoy each other's' firm outside of the workplace. It's nice going to work somewhere where you feel appreciated. We are all peers. Even the higher-ups feel the same way. No one looks down on anyone. We all cooperate to get work done. It's really great working at a place like this. I don't wake up feeling exhausted, but instead wake up feeling energized and excited to go to work.
Although there are benefits of being a small firm, at times I feel we could benefit from bringing in additional talent. Sometimes there's just too much work for us to do, and we struggle getting it done within small time frames. I understand the benefits of a small firm, but when we get a lot of cases - we have a hard time keeping up with all of them. Sometimes I feel the advice we provide is really lacking because we try to rush through it so we can go on to the next case.
Thank you.
