Stoel Rives LLP Reviews

Advice to law firm management: HR needs to devise a plan to alleviate some of the stress involved, since everyone is hyper focused on moving forward, we could lose some people.

Pros: The pay is on the top tier and the team can be very focused to finish the job quickly

Cons: Overworked employees do exist here, and some are a bit strung out with the workload at certain points in the year.

Advice to law firm management: Hire a more diverse group of employees. Sometimes it seems to be just the "good old boys" network. I also think that a law firm of this caliber should have better coffee,

Pros: I have been with Stoel Rives for 5 years now. I find that it is a great place to work. The benefits are above average and the offices are beautiful. I find that most of the staff is very supportive,

Cons: A couple of the attorneys at Stoel Rives are elitist and feel that they are better than anyone else. One in particular always requests that I do personal errands such as pick up their laundry.

Hiring Criteria

Stoel Rives LLP follows the set of hiring criteria outlined below.

We seek highly motivated individuals with excellent academics, law review, work experience, student activities, leadership ability and commitment to the community, intellectual curiosity and professionalism.

Pro bono

Worried that as a slave to the billable hour you'll lose the chance to help those in need? Don't worry. At Stoel Rives, your contribution extends beyond the clients you serve to the role you play in shaping your local community. Our lawyers support organizations that provide legal assistance to less advantaged people, and offer pro bono legal services throughout our communities. We also play a role as a firm and through our lawyers in helping to enhance the livability of our communities by encouraging lawyers to assume roles of leadership as directors or trustees for nonprofits that promote freedom and equality; health and welfare; children and education; access to housing, arts and culture; economic development; and other worthwhile causes. Our guiding philosophy in our promotion of pro bono and community involvement is that charity and civic work are performed most effectively and passionately when they coincide with an individual's interests. As a consequence, involvement in our communities is as varied and diverse as the people who work here. What's your community passion?
