Current Employee Current Employee Mr. San Francisco

Advice to law firm management:
There needs to be a management team here. It would end a lot of frustration and everyone would be on the same page for projects.

Pros:
The people here really are passionate about their work. It feels great to be able to work on projects with people that actually wanted to work and not slack around and drag the team down. Everyone here is upbeat and positive.

Cons:
It can be unorganized and confusing at times. There is a clear lack of management in the firm. We stay focused on our projects, but there is no clear person to report to when we run into a snag. It is frustrating.

Former Employee Former Employee Mr. San Francisco

Advice to law firm management:
Hold attorney Jason M. Powell accountable.

Pros:
BEWARE!!!!! Foster Garvey employs attorney Jason M. Powell. I hired Mr. Powell to create my company formation docs for my company which recently started to receive outside investments. Mr. Powell did not follow my request to protect my interests or the interests of my investors. Mr. Powell knew exactly how to create legal agreements that have no legal enforcement allowing his colleagues to take control of my company without my knowing. Because of Mr. Powell's undermining contracts with his colleagues Ralph Trigg & Joseph Quercio were able to take control of my business that I have owned for 10+ years. The actions put into motion by Powell, Trigg & Quercio have bankrupted my business. To make things worst Mr. Powell's actions allowed an ex-felon to be added to my business bank account without my knowing or approval. The ex-felon, Brent James Felix stole $320,504.20 from my business as a result of Mr. Powell's non-enforceable contracts. Not only was Mr. Powell hired to protect my interests, Mr. Powell also requested to invest his Roth IRA into my business. Mr. Powell was paid both as my attorney and also received profit dividends from his $40k investment into my business. Exactly 1 day before Mr. Powell's colleagues took control of my company, Mr. Powell requested to be cashed out of his investment knowing that his colleagues were getting ready to take control of my company. After further research I learned Mr. Powell and Mr. Quercio have multiple shared LLC's together. If anyone would like more information or to see these criminal acts with their own eyes please contact me through this review. Furthermore I have submitted a complaint to the Oregon State Bar describing these events and filed an official complaint against Mr. Powell. Mr. Powell has since retained legal counsel Dayna Underhill to defend his criminal actions. In research of the law firm retained by Mr. Powell, the Underhill Law Firm representing Mr. Powell does not have a working website. Beware of any law firm willing to employ someone like Jason M. Powell.

Cons:
Foster Garvey employs attorney Jason M. Powell.

Partners to Avoid and Why:
Jason M. Powell because he is not an ethical attorney.

Favorite Things About this Firm:
None unless they hold Jason M. Powell accountable for his actions.

Practice Areas

Foster Garvey PC practices law in the following areas and works with its clients to provide the best possible legal solutions.

Pro bono

On August 27, 2009, Garvey Schubert Barer was one of eight firms honored by Jewish Family Service of Seattle with an Outstanding Service Award in recognition of work for the Holocaust Ghetto Workers Reparations Project. Garvey Schubert Barer associate Michelle Rosenthal has joined with others in providing pro bono legal services for the Seattle branch of the project. In 2007 the German chancellor announced the creation of the Ghetto Work Payment Program, which offers a one-time payment of 2,000 Euro (approx. $2,600 USD) to Holocaust survivors who performed involuntary labor in Nazi-controlled ghettos during World War II. Approximately 60,000 survivors may be eligible for these payments. To help these survivors, Bet Tzedek Legal Services in Los Angeles collaborates with law firms across the nation to organize legal clinics and train volunteer lawyers to properly prepare the forms. As of August 2009, Seattle volunteer lawyers have helped over 40 survivors submit applications for reparations.
