What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Management needs to take control of this situation as you are fully aware of this attorney's actions as well as the numerous secretaries she has gone through
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
The only friendly staff members where in the mailroom! When you are a new employee you would think people would offer to help you with certain things, not here!
What did you not like about this institution?
The attorney I interviewed with gave me the job on the spot and fired her secretary that same day! She did nothing but criticize her secretary during the interview. I should have known at that point not to accept the position. This firm has a job posting every month and I am sure it is for the same attorney/partner. I went to Personnel about her and was told to just try and get along with her. I believe maybe the woman in management was scared of her. Someone should stop this attorney from having a secretary because she doesn't deserve one! I started the very next day after the interview. I came into a mess of secretarial desk. I even worked Saturday in my first week only to be let go not even 2 weeks later! I feel I should warn everyone but beware of Heather Eichenbaum! She is pure evil! God help you if you start working with her because it definitely won't last! Don't even waste your time! She is absolutely the worst! I have over 30 years of legal assistance experience and am fully capable of doing my duties as a legal assistant but there is no dealing with this woman.

Heather Eichenbaum. She is the nastiest attorney ever! She is no good! I have never met such an unprofessional and nasty attorney as her and I have been a legal assistant for over 30 years!
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
The mailroom has very nice staff members who assisted me with writing out 35-40 certified letters a day! Of course they keep all the good friendly people in the mailroom.

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
I get she may make the firm money but you have been aware of her terrible attitude and treatment of her assistants for YEARS. This is unacceptable and creates a hostile work environment. Yet management and HR do NOTHING except get rid of the assistants she stops liking. Do better.
Also, maybe actually HELP new employees? No one was friendly or willing to help including the IT department. If you asked them to help or do something they would roll their eyes at you and talk about you - which was really nice to walk in on. Terrible treatment of new employees yet you claim to be like “a family.”
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
Mail room employees were helpful and friendly.
What did you not like about this institution?
Management, unfriendly coworkers, toxic work environment and attorney Heather Eichenbaum.

Heather Eichenbaum. She treats her secretaries like trash, speaks to them like they’re stupid, is condescending and flat out rude. Have been a legal assistant for 11 years and have never worked under someone so disrespectful to their own staff. Even once came across an email from opposing counsel telling her to stop talking to their secretary that way (rudely) and that they hoped she didn’t treat her own like that. She talked about previous assistants to the current ones, fired other ones because she didn’t like them, and never once listened to a tiny suggestion that would make the job easier to manage. It was basically being her certified Mail robot for subpoenas- she didn’t allow anyone to think for themselves. The only people she was nice to were management and the employees that DIDNT work for her. This firm has a job opening every couple of months and I can almost guarantee it’s always for her! No amount of pay is enough to be abused. If you interview and see her - RUN!!!
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Again, the mail room employees and the front desk staff.
