A Tedious Workplace

Perhaps look into seeing if the workload can be changed up a bit to keep employees from getting bored and giving up."

The pay here is generous for the work that is required of people here and the experience of the people.

The work here tends to be kind of tedious and drags out forever with no end in sight. Even if you finish it the next day will be just like the previous.

Good Benefits and Attorneys

Offer more opportunities for advancement and training for management.

This is a great place to learn about the practice of law. The benefits and attorneys are great.

There are not many opportunities to move up in the organization. Management needs more training.

Get back to the collegiality and relationships that built the firm and move away from the relentless focus on the very top people making more money every year. The firm cannot keep associate talent and it's getting worse. I Know of only one female associate out of 11 that stayed more than 5 years.

Talented "line lawyers," very well connected politically and a more conservative firm management style that served the firm and its employees especially well during the recent recession.

Top level management gets worse every year, often"soul less" money grabbers. The firm is so focused on office/numbers growth (even over revenue) and growing the head count in particular, that it lost its best strength: collegiality. There was a time ten years ago where you knew most of the lawyers and there was a lot of cross marketing between offices and practice groups, whereas now it has grown so big everyone is focused on their own office and group only. Everyone -- and I mean everyone -- feels much more like just a number than they did five years ago. The new sterile, silent, space/energy efficient offices did not help on that score. Some times feels like 20-30 law firms all uncomfortably mushed together.
