Overview

Bryan Cave LLP has a diversified international legal practice. The firm represents a wide variety of business, financial, institutional and individual clients, including publicly held multinational corporations, large and mid-sized privately held companies, partnerships and emerging companies. Aided by extensive investments in technology, Bryan Cave’s more than 1,000 attorneys across the United States, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and Asia serve clients’ needs in the world’s key business and financial markets. At Bryan Cave, we truly have a shared practice and not just a shared name. That means lawyers from different offices often collaborate as a routine part of every day. We have worked hard to eliminate fiscal and geographic boundaries between our offices; central to that viewpoint is the fact that we practice in Client Service Groups which are either specific to an area of law or directed toward industry groups. Group members may come from various disciplines and offices around the globe. Client Service Groups facilitate crosspractice and inter-office collaboration. It is significant that our offices are not profit centers. Each client is considered a client of the whole firm – with access to the resources that will best serve their needs. We act as one firm because it serves our clients best. We serve clients around the world, and they deserve and expect guidance from professionals with a vision, footprint and perspective as broad and global as their own.

Pros : Prestigious Law Firm with Poor Management
Cons : There's not much support here for senior associates and we don't get a lot ofhelp from management on how to do things. In fact, most of upper management is not involved.Their raises are also rather poor.

Working for the Bryan Cave LLP

Working at Bryan Cave not only offers promising career but would also lead becoming a partner at the firm. Bryan Cave has two partnership tracks, with an average of nine years to become eligible for non-equity partner, and an additional three years to become eligible for equity partner.

While some of the benefits like great mentors at the firm, friendly, intelligent co-workers and realistic working hours attract more and more aspirants to be an associate at Bryan Cave, downers like difficult to be a partner, firm's focus on foreclosure defense and little formal guidance given to the attorneys continue to be a challenge for freshers.

The firm also has a formal mentoring program, which pairs younger associates with partner mentors. The associate workflow system is practice-based. Also, the firm provides three weeks of vacation time on a use-it-or-lose-it basis.
