Bryan Cave management looks at excellent performance at law school and undergraduate level. Also, taken into consideration are the relevant work experience, strong writing and leadership skills, and a desire to succeed in a challenging, team-oriented and congenial environment. The firm has been active in campus recruitment's as it visited 45 law schools in 2011, while participated in 7 job fairs.
Pro bono work at Bryan Cave includes a wide variety of both transactional and litigation matters, including intellectual property, criminal, corporate and transactional, appellate, family, tax, and civil rights litigation cases. Referrals from local legal services agencies and work for non-profit organizations make up much of the Firm's pro bono time.
Bryan Cave participates in the Pro Bono Institute Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge and encourages its attorneys to work at least 50 pro bono hours per year, although there is no minimum. In 2010, 68% of associates participated in pro bono work, and averaged 77 pro bono hours per associate.
