1.0Dont work hereParalegal (Former Employee) - Philadelphia, PAAngry attorneys who offer no encouragement. No training offered. Do not give benefit of doubt. Stressful work environment. Boring, do same thing over and over. Dont feel much purpose defending insurance companies.
5.Current Employee, more than 1 yearGood FirmAug 17, 2021 - Paralegal in Philadelphia, PARecommendProsVery good pay. Good insurance and benefits. Good work life balance. Good retention of personnel. Good continuing education opportunities. Excellent handling of Covid. Great location for SEPTA commuting.ConsNot much to put here really. It has some of the impersonality issues of any big firm. No separate sick time.
I would not recommend Post & Schell as a place to work for paralegals. The attorneys were unapproachable and offered no guidance or support. The firm did not invest in employee development, offering no training. The work environment was stressful and repetitive, lacking a sense of purpose. Representing insurance companies was unfulfilling.
Andrea M. Kirshenbaum, who is the Principal Chair, Employment and Labor Practice Group of Post & Schell, is a horrible lawyer and has definitely psychological problems. I was the Pro Se Plaintiff while she was the lead defendant attorney. During our litigation, Andrea Kirshenbaum started to stalk, harass and retaliate against me and my minor child. She stalks me on social media and threatens my social media contacts. Even after our litigation ended, Andrea Kirshenbaum still continues to stalk me. I was told that her similar behaviors caused one of her children kicked out of school. I am an MD, and my professional opinion is Andrea Kirshenbaum to be hospitalized for public safety. Following is the email I sent her on September 15th, 2022, and today, on September 17th, 2022, she kept stalking me by text messages: Please stop stalking me. Beril Gok Thu, Sep 15, 2022 at 8:47 AM To: "Kirshenbaum, Andrea" Andrea, I have blocked AGAIN your last attempt of stalking on Facebook/Messenger. Please stop stalking me, otherwise, I will start with an official complaint.
Andrea Kirshenbaum, Alfred Johnston
There needs to be a higher priority placed on staff over billing. The firm should offer breaks in which staff and management could participate in tasks or activities to reduce stress to be more efficient employees.
It's a working environment in which the staff collectively works together. The office is full of positive people. Staff is provided with good benefits.
The firm seems to care more about billing their clients overall. Since billing is the highest priority, high levels of stress result as staff works hard in order to bill their clients.
Thank you.
