Set realistic expectations to allow for a better work/life balance. To make growth opportunities equitable management should organize formal upward reviews as well.

What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
I worked at McGinnis Lochridge & Kilgore LLP as a full-time attorney for more than five years. I think I am very much experience to write a review for this firm. Your experience really depends on which senior attorney you are assigned to. While the rotation system is supposed to ensure that everyone get a well-rounded experience in different facets of litigation, but it was based primarily on need of team member. The work is very collaborative and senior attorneys and partners teach you a lot, which is the best thing about this Law firm.

What did you not like about this institution?
Expectations and work load is too high so it is hard to attain work/life balance. The hours can get long, and some partners are harder to work with than others. The hardest part of the job is steep learning curve and slow growth opportunities.
