5.Former Employee, more than 10 yearsFabulous law firm to work forAnonymous Employee RecommendProsFabulous law firm offering comprehensive benefits, competitive compensation, and preference to promote from within. Employees are respected and concerns are always considered with an eye toward improvement. Management has always had an open door policy. Plenty of camaraderie, food and other perks. True teamwork! Challenging work assignments with minimal supervision. Have worked for other law firms and this one is as good as you get.ConsToo few to think of. More attorney participation in performance evaluations is needed.
The firm has taken promising steps in supporting the diverse, young leaders who are emerging as practice group and committee chairs.
A great bunch of people, many who have worked at Ryan Swanson for several years. There is a lot of trust in the employees to work efficiently and collaboratively, with minimal micromanaging. The Puget Sound Business Journal has listed the firm among the "Best Workplaces" list for 4 or 5 straight years, with recent high marks for minorities as a share of staff and women as a share of staff. Recent hires have been a boost for the collegial culture that has existed since I started working here over ten years ago.
Ryan Swanson has a committee that focuses exclusively on organizing fun and engaging events for attorneys and staff. They also have a sabbatical benefit for all employees (not just lawyers) that is unmatched.
The firm should adapt to changing times and give greater consideration to different lifestyle options chosen by its staff. The firm should also improve diversity ratings.
The firm has plenty of work and plenty of clients to keep it busy. There is always enough work to sustain employment.
The management is not a great fit for everyone. Some think the management's approach harsher than it should be.
Thank you.
