What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
There needs to be more focus on getting a bigger pool of staff employees. The staff should continue to be supportive of one another. Management should continue to focus on balancing the workload amongst the small amount of staff.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
A law firm that has staff members that create a laid back environment. Focus on team effort is the core. The staff does a great job on helping one another, especially when the workload is high.
What did you not like about this institution?
The law firm lacks the proper amount of staff. There is some stress involved because of the lack of adequate staff causing things to move slowly in the firm.

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
it is important to build mentorship into your program. Also to pay your interns better!
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
The best part of the firm is that it is a very Self Managed position. You are assigned a mentor but they don't really mentor after the first two weeks. They walk you through the basics of training and then give you assignments but with little direction after that.
What did you not like about this institution?
I thought the problems I had at this firm were unique to me - like maybe I just did not fit in with the culture - but I spoke with multiple other interns (previous and current) and they affirmed the following: terrible management and it was not worth applying! You feel like a burden the entire time. No one is willing to teach you anything and they get frustrated that they have to spend any time teaching you or guiding you. I had to ask the paralegals how to do every part of the job and when I asked my mentor I was told "it is a major sacrifice of my billable time to teach you". When I was provided feedback for one assignment (which I requested because It is a learning experience and I wanted to grow) I was told that my work on an assignment "was just awful" with no additional comments. Also, they only pay you $25 dollars an hour which makes their absolutely horrid behavior not worth it no matter what you try to do. I promise you it is better to avoid this place as an intern because you can have much more meaningful experiences at other firms.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
I worked on the liability side so I can only speak to those partners. On my first day of work, an associate came to my office to warn me about a man named Andrew. The associate told me that this one man ruins the entire work day for him so he told me to "avoid him". I wasn't able to because I did not choose the assignments I was given but I wish that I could have. Additionally, there is a partner named Scarlett who told me that the reason she became a partner so fast is due to "not taking a lunch break, and rarely using the bathroom". She expects the same out of interns.
The associates are mostly really great! I don't think anyone expects the high level of chaos that comes with working at this firm.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
The best part of the firm is that they do have access to free tickets for baseball games, they do take you out to dinner at the end of the program, and also they do hire additional summer associates so that you have others to learn from the experience with.
