5.Current Employee, less than 1 yearGreat Firm, Great People!Anonymous Employee in Houston, TXRecommendProsGreat culture and great place to work at!ConsI honestly can't think of any.
V&E should be more open about their interview process and post more opportunities for law students at a variety of their offices.
V&E has a prominent name and they host the most welcoming receptions. I really enjoy meeting with all of their employees in lots of different locations.
It is very difficult to get an interview at V&E, even if your law school has a relationship with them. They should do something about this.
I have not had enough time to interact with the partners in order to be able to post a review about this, but I have enjoyed the ones that I have met briefly.
I love that V&E is known as a Texas firm but it also has offices all over, and it also has a relationship with schools in cities where it doesn't have offices, such as Tulane.
Less than a year
There is no shortage of cases to work on, so be sure to do your homework and prepare for anything.
I shopped around a lot before taking this job and I know I made the right choice. They are wonderful and will treat you like family.
There is a lot of work to be done, but everyone is always willing to help out. Ask for help and you will get it.
Working on having a better work and life balance. Have more realistic expectations and fix management's problems.
The firm treats employees with respect and dignity. It's a great place to jump in and get experience. The benefits are excellent.
Hours are long and the work-life balance isn't very good. Expectations are extremely high. There are some problems with management.
I think there should be much more opportunities to move up in the firm.
Good Firm but Lacks Upward Mobility
There isn't all that much room to advance here, which I wish there wasbecause I enjoy the work. It's also very difficult to make partner. So this probably won't be a law firmthat you'd want to stay at for a long period of time.
Thank you.
