What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Everything!
Management! She gotta go!
The attorneys, especially Ed Ryan and Evan K need to work on their nasty attitude towards employees. Evan only cares about one thing, the insurance company he represents. He doesn’t care if the employees have other tasks to do. He tells them to stop and do his job. He micromanages everyone working under him. He is very fake. Would smile in your face and talk smack behind your back. He favors certain employees more than others. He doesn’t even know what he’s doing half the time. He is a total a**
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
There was nothing I liked about this employer.
What did you not like about this institution?
I did not like that they favor one person more than the other. They choose who they want to give bonus to or buy lunch for. They would ask some employees if they want something and the others they wouldn’t even speak to them. They micromanage the hell out of their employees. You can’t get a break. They are very unprofessional, unorganized only care about the work getting done.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
Everyone looking for employment should avoid this firm. It is very toxic.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Change their attitudes towards others and understand that the employees have a life outside of work.

How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Change their attitudes towards others and understand that the employees have a life outside of work.
What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Change the management. They do not know how to handle confrontation in a healthy manner which causes a hostile work environment and makes their employee feel uncomfortable and miserable to be working there. The office manager is no ray of sunshine. She does not know how to do her job effectively and has a disturbing demeanor. It's expected for an office manager to bring order to an office but instead she is ill-mannered and condescending.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
I did not like one thing about this employer. The workers are the nicest people ever and they are willing to help you when needed.
What did you not like about this institution?
I did not like the favoritism, passive aggression from management, and inadequate pay.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
The senior partners and the office manager should be avoided. In conclusion, if you are seeking employment here kindly look else where is you care about your mental health.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Better management would help. Stopping favoritism, micromanaging, and learning how to respectfully communicate to all employees no matter their title. They should also give the employees more incentives such as more PTO and sick days, granting raises annually and allowing all support staff to have a hybrid schedule. If you use a computer for work you should be able to have the ability to log on from home no matter your job title. Management, if you are reading this please know that the employees do not care to attend your after work events because you literally treat them like garbage during work hours and they do not care to converse with you on their free time. Please stop throwing those ridiculous parties because no one cares to attend and most people don't. Use the money elsewhere and give people raises because they cannot even afford drinking water on their salaries. All of the workers are legitimately miserable working there to the point that many people wear headphones at their desks to take the pain away. If you respect yourself look for employment elsewhere and re-read the title of this review.
What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Holiday parties need improvement! :)
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
People - no question.
What did you not like about this institution?
Nothing negative.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
Nothing to avoid.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Just continue
What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Learn how to be human beings. Get out of your corner offices and become nicer. Learn how to communicate with others. Give attorneys the tools they need to succeed. Because if they succeed so will the firm. Then maybe you won't have to go into your own pockets to pay for the firm's expenses.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
The environment here is toxic. Paralegals and secretaries run the show, in a way that if they refuse to do something for you, it won't get done. Attorneys are told by partners "you have to work around other people's schedules (this was in the context of secretary leaving before 5). What can be said about the management...terrible. No insight into how to run an office at all. Bad decisions after bad decisions. Giving raises to some but not others, favoring some and making others lives miserable just because they are not a fan of you.
What did you not like about this institution?
Everything. From partners to secretaries, there is constant disrespect. the funny thing is, this firm is not even big enough to be a mean big law firm. It just bad.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
Elizabeth Adels, Michael Hanratty. Adels is out of touch with normal people. Hanratty is a bully. they give out partner titles like candy
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Unfortunately there is nothing good about this firm. Maybe free bagels on fridays. Other than that, I would stay away from this place.

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Fire the manager and get someone who can actually deal with with issues between staff. Stop attacking the smartest partner at the firm, Julie Linwood! And get rid of dead weight.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
When Pat and Beth retire the firm should die. That would be the best thing across the board. Evan won’t be able to practice law. He knows nothing.
What did you not like about this institution?
Absolutely no management. Beth Adels and pat McDonnell have no clue how to run a firm. It’s like letting the animals run the zoo. If I were State Farm insurance, I’d run just like USAA did when they realized Evan Klestzick was a complete moron!
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
EVAN KLESTZICK Evan Klestzick Evan klestzick Evan klestzick Evan klestzick Evan klestzick he’s a moron and lost the only source of income the firm had. The firm is in debt and taking out loans because they do all non billable work and keep the dumbest of the dumb so they can pay them nothing
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
There is nothing good about this firm. It causes depression and is full of toxic people who make NO money! The secretaries make more money than the attorneys. QUIT

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Open up to the possibility of allowing employees to work from home occasionally. This will attract a wider range of employees. Allow their productivity to speak for itself. If low, then disallow that employee from working from home. But if their productivity is high then it's a win/win.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
I worked there for many years. It's a good place to work. I still keep in touch with some of my former coworkers and partners. They recognize good work and reward it.
What did you not like about this institution?
Lack of flexibility regarding telecommunication/working from home. This was the main reason I decided to change firms when I started my family.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
No one partner specifically. I got along with everyone there. All firms have their share of characters. This firm is no different.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
My favorite thing about working for this firm was working for Evan Klestzick. He never micromanaged me and also treated me with respect. He is always actively working to build the business and find clients - he's done it many times.

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Keep doing what you’re doing. Maybe put out the daily attorney schedules a bit earlier than the day of (maybe do it a week in advance) to allow people to plan their schedules for the week a bit more easily!
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
I began working at McDonnell, Adels & Klestzick my first job out of law, expecting to only stay for a few short months. Because of the incredible people, supportive work environment, legalguidance and respect that I received from all of the partners there, I ended up staying for almost four years. I am so grateful for the incredible experience that I had working at McDonnell, Adels & Klestzick. To this day, I remain good friends with many of the partners and fellow associates with whom I worked. I would be remiss if I didn’t also mention that when I left the firm, I knew I would never in a million years find another boss who was as warm, welcoming, supportive and incredible as my boss Evan Klestzick. Not only did Evan welcome me into the firm, but he gave me the opportunity to grow as a young attorney and as a young professional, providing support and encouragement in both my professional and personal life. An amazing firm and I would recommend it to anyone!
What did you not like about this institution?
The only downside for me was that I was living in NYC and reverse commuting. I have been at several other firms since, and have yet to find another firm as warm and welcoming as this one.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
No partners to avoid. They’re all great, but Julie Linwood and Evan Klestzick are both excellent attorneys and mentors.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
The people there are warm, welcoming, and supportive. Give you enough freedom to fly on your own but enough guidance and support to make sure things get done the right way.

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Stop using the 8 hours as social hour- put the effort that is put into socializing and starting high school drama in the middle of the office into gaining clients and being more professional and I can guarantee you that your firm will do better. ALSO- COME OUT OF YOUR OFFICES MORE OFTEN!!!! YOU’LL SEE WHICH EMPLOYEES FREQUENT THE BAR DOWN THE STREET ON LUNCH AND WHOSE NOT SWIPING IN OR OUT ON LUNCH AND TAKE 2 hours TO GO SHOPPING/LUNCH/NAIL SALON!!! You name it, they are there.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
Bagels and coffee that’s it.... nothing more, nothing less. Office is full of bullies who are self absorbed Whiny little brats who have never been told to stop and actually be professional. Employees go complain about the unacceptable things being done/said and management did nothing but join in on the drama!!!
What did you not like about this institution?
I was given the opportunity years ago to work for the firm. Little did I realize that it was poorly managed and was a busted up version of a reality show. There were too many “family members” through out the office which made it absolutely difficult to ever resolve a problem; especially when the said family members were starting wars with employees and backed off when “management” if that’s what you want to call her intervened. The so called “manager” would sit in her office all day, pass her work off to everyone, EVEN THOSE WHO DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO DO! and take 2 hour lunches with certain members of staff, as well as the computer guy just Lolly gagging about football and other nonsense. God forbid you interrupted with a real issue, you got shunned and told “oh go and find so and so they’ll help you” and continue on with her gossip. My all time favorite was when the secretaries would disappear mid day, and show up at 4pm when everyone who had done their 8 hours were ready to leave and decided to throw 20 motions on their desk and say run them through for me and set them up for exhibits for tomorrow. Not only did this happen daily, but it was allowed by management- because you guessed it the friend factor. You can be friends with your staff, but you can’t forget your a manager and set the example!!!!! Which brings me to clerical staff... it’s nice to be cordial.. keep it as such, cordial. I’ve seen new clerical crew come in get too close to certain staff and within months the attitudes were in full affect, throwing fits at their desk running to management stating that Work wasn’t being done, so and so is slacking, overtime is needed to pick up the slack and the poor new staff we’re victim to it and didn’t know any of this until they were either fired or quit.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
I would avoid the clerical staff before I avoid the attorneys. The attorneys have their moments but the certain few that are clerical are worst then ever and will make your employment there hell if you fall for their non sense.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Only favorite thing was when the mailman would come later then usual and the “manager” had to actually do her job because everyone left and she had to distribute the mail!!!!!

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
I would advise the firm to keep doing what they are doing in meeting and exceeding client expectations and in the kind of direction they provide their staff at all levels.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
I can’t help but place a review of this firm after having seen a couple of the reviews made before me. I started my legal career at McDonnell & Adels, (now MAK) some 14 years ago and have to say that working there was the most positive professional experience of my life. I was given guidance and direction from Pat, Beth, and Evan (who is now a named partner) on how best to handle my files and the executive management was always accessible and willing to identify areas for growth. I had to leave the firm because I was moving out of the city, but I can unequivocally say that the approach Pat, Beth, and Evan took on managing their staff and the needs of their clients is unlike any other I have seen. I have later worked at firms in Chicago, Buffalo, and now serve as a member of the leadership team at a District of Columbia government agency; and can say with conviction that had it not been for the initial foundational experience I had at McDonnell & Adels, I would have not come as far as I have today.
I have kept in touch with Pat and Evan and they have remained long-lasting mentors throughout my career. If given the opportunity, I would certainly choose to work there again and feel strongly that any attorney who has the opportunity to make McDonnell, Adels, & Klestzick their professional home, would be making one the best career decisions of they chose to accept that opportunity. Their emphasis on ethics and the extent to which they prioritize only the best in client outcomes, is unmatched from anywhere else I have seen.
What did you not like about this institution?
I really did not have any negative experiences while I was at the firm and felt it was very unfortunate when I had to leave because I had to move to another part of the country.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
I cannot answer this question in good faith because there were no partners to avoid when I was there. I had a positive experience with everyone at the firm.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Personable and accessible executive management, family-oriented environment, in- depth guidance on the practice areas in which they serve, and an emphasis on exceeding client expectations.

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Fire people/have consequences for those who break the rules. It's just bad when half your current staff is hitting the bar during lunch and sweating alcohol out of their pores. The fact that the partners don't care about people is a problem
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
Nothing. Honestly management is awful. There are. No rules. They really are oblivious to the problems. The partners have no clue who does what. And they wonder why they are losing money.
What did you not like about this institution?
The only good thing is the paid vacation time. I have worked for forms that have stricter rules. To be fair you can't get fired from this job. They don't fire anyone.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
All of them. If they had any clue what was going on... we'll shit never mind. Because even if they knew what what happening they wouldn't do anything. And we all know you avoid certain employees. Especially those in the southwest area of the office.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
Absolutely nothing. The vacation time was nice but be prepared to have a certain someone /aka NK TO have a meltdown every time she had to cover the front desk

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Watch out.. run away as fast as you can .. a terrible person with a non existent moral compass !!
This is a firm to be avoided at all costs!!
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
I worked there for many years. It's a good place to work. I still keep in touch with some of my former coworkers and partners. They recognize good work and reward it.
What did you not like about this institution?
Arrived 5 minutes early and was taken 10 minutes late by an aggressive and careless associate who couldn't care less about listening to my issues and instead rushed the appointment as much as possible.

The fact that the partners don't care about people is a problem. I did see many landscapers and janitors in their waiting room .. so someone is hiring them .

McDonell Adels & Klestzick is highly professional, their staff is amazing and easy to deal with. He helped my family and I with our Foreclosure Lawsuit. He helped keep our home and I am happy to recommend Elliot and his law firm to any one is having similar troubles!

This has been their pattern since I paid them. You're better off with a paralegal. Wish I had read the reviews in advance. Very expensive lesson.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
Empathetic, knowledgable, and professional. McDonnell is a great communicator. From our first meeting with him, both my wife and I felt comfortable with him.
What did you not like about this institution?
They do charge lil extra fees and do not provide the proper legal representation or advice to you as the client.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
They schedule appointments at their request and then try to bill you for scheduling the appointment. They need to do fix the work schedule.

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Get involve Lisa Green!!! Your the office manger and the biggest problem of the office. Your getting paid more than the attorneys and all you do when a issue is brought to you is NOTHING!!! You never want to solve anything you rather run to the partners who are paying you to run the office.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
You will find some decent people that actually work there
What did you not like about this institution?
The favoritism and the way politics is a topic at anytime. One of the partners Edward Ryan has a huge cut out board of President Obama in his office wearing a MAGA hat and no sees anything wrong with that.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
Beth Adels- She is rude with absolutely no personality, she knows nothing but acts like she does and don’t bother saying hello to her she will look at you like your a stranger except when your at the Holiday party.
Edward Ryan - Short tempered and sneaky.
Michael Hanratty - Has a problem with everything, will throw you under the bus, while driving it, jump out and ask you if need any help. He is really good at making it seem like “they” have a problem when the only they is him.
Julie Linwood- A complete B***h! She loves to talk down to people.
Pat McDonnell - Fake and rude.
Evan Klestzick - A Liar and retarded. All the good reviews on this site are by people he begged to write them and fake ones he made up.
