Job Title: Manager - Commercial and Contracts
Job Responsibilities:
The Manager in the Commercial and Contracts team at the law firm will play a pivotal role in enhancing the performance of the legal function and adding value to the organization. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing, redlining, and negotiating a wide range of transactional contracts, including those for procurement and the sale of services, technology, data, content, and products within or outside of the supply chain.
- Collaborating with client stakeholders to mitigate risks identified in contract language and ensuring that commercial objectives are met within stipulated timeframes.
- Independently communicating with clients’ business and legal stakeholders to build and strengthen relationships.
- Understanding and adhering to client-specific processes and negotiation strategies.
- Working with a team to ensure service delivery according to the agreed project scope, ensuring client satisfaction and compliance with SLAs, and actively identifying client needs and ways to fulfill those needs.
- Contributing to and leading regular communication forums involving internal and external stakeholders.
- Acting as the point of escalation for the project team to address both technical and people management issues.
- Creating executive summaries of executed contracts to enable client business teams to understand risk and compliance with positions.
- Understanding, implementing, and facilitating the use of Contract Management technologies appropriate to client needs.
- Innovating and improving current processes and techniques, including those related to workflow, time, and knowledge management.
- Facilitating reporting via daily/weekly/monthly metrics packs to internal and external project stakeholders, possibly members of senior management.
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for this position, candidates must have:
- A license to practice law with 2 to 6 years of experience in a law firm or in-house with a large multinational corporation.
- The ability to work with different contract structures and possess strong issue-spotting abilities.
- Experience in contract negotiation, handling volumes across a variety of transactions on both the buy and sell side.
- Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills at all levels, including formal and informal presentation skills.
- Familiarity with technology and a willingness to stay abreast of the changing environment.
- Responsiveness to the needs of both internal and external clients.
- Strong relationship and people leadership skills, being a team player, facilitating different points of view, and effectively managing any associated conflict.
- High energy, self-starter, ability to work independently, analytical, quick learner, organized, flexible to change, and results-driven.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills are desirable.
Salary Information:
The law firm offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, rewarding employees based on performance and recognizing the value they bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $127,100 to $233,000. In the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento), the base salary range is $152,500 to $264,800. Individual salaries within these ranges are determined by a variety of factors, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Additionally, the Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
