Job Title: Tax Senior, Private Equity
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior in the Private Equity sector at the company, you will be tasked with providing tax compliance and advisory services to investment management clients. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing your prior experience to manage client relationships by delivering tax advisory services.
- Performing detail-level reviews of tax research, partnership work papers, allocations, and tax filings.
- Coordinating and communicating with client contacts to gather necessary information for tax returns.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising new and experienced-level tax staff.
- Attending required company and sector-specific training sessions.
- Preparing and leading client meetings on compliance and advisory projects related to tax planning opportunities.
- Advising on the tax implications of various transactions for organizations.
Education and Experience Information:
Required:
- Ability to work within a hybrid work model, co-locating in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- 3+ years of experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns.
- Experience with investment management or partnership taxation.
- Proficiency with Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and the tax compliance process for investment partnerships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, based on work requirements.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willingness to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible: Licensed attorney or Enrolled Agent.
- Certifications: Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Previous experience in a Big 4 firm or a large CPA firm.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this position is estimated to be between $66,570 to $151,580. The range considers various factors including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is noted that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules, which considers factors like individual and organizational performance.
