This permanent full-time position offers a competitive salary of $74,904 - $106,286 annually, and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university, as well as a license to practice law in the State of Illinois.

As an Attorney I, you will provide legal representation for the city on simple to moderately complex legal matters. This includes attending administrative and court hearings, conducting witness examinations and cross-examinations, preparing cases for trial, and engaging in civil discovery. You will also staff boards and commissions and assist with contract review and negotiation. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to present continuing education materials on legal issues for various departments and attend city council meetings.

To be successful in this role, you should have comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field, as well as strong analytical judgment and decision-making abilities. You should also be able to communicate effectively and have a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university
- License to practice law in the State of Illinois

- Comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with strong analytical judgment and decision-making abilities
