Job Overview
A prominent law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking an experienced, self-driven Associate Attorney to join its General Liability litigation group. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research, writing, and litigation abilities, with a commitment to providing exceptional client service. Duties

  • Conduct file reviews and perform in-depth legal analysis of claims and causes of action

  • Draft substantial legal documents, including briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs

  • Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions

  • Draft and respond to discovery requests

  • Collaborate with expert witnesses for trial preparation

  • Attend trials and provide trial support

  • Participate in negotiations and mediations

  • Meet an annual billable target of 1,950 hours

  • Some travel may be required

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience, with a focus on insurance defense

  • Experience handling cases from inception through to resolution

  • Proficient in taking and defending depositions, including 30(b)(6) and expert depositions

  • Skilled in drafting and arguing motions, and participating in hearings and trials

  • Strong negotiation and mediation experience

  • . degree from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Admission to practice in the state of Florida (additional state admissions are a plus)

  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team setting

  • Excellent client service skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Florida (other state certifications are a plus)
