Job Title: Privacy Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice to the global Data Transformation (DX) teams on privacy matters regarding new and materially changed initiatives.
- Initiate and conduct efforts aimed at promoting and ensuring compliance with global privacy rules and other privacy program requirements, with a focus on future technologies, such as data transformation initiatives including cross-group affiliate data sharing, customer marketing, and account consolidation/unified ID.
- Consult and coordinate with legal departments and outside counsel as needed regarding local legal requirements, including regulatory filings for international data protection authorities and consultations with European Works Councils, in collaboration with Sr Counsel/Privacy Officer.
- Work in partnership with appropriate teams to enhance governance, controls, and documentation, and address findings.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable privacy laws, regulations, and standards, and monitor advancements in information privacy technologies.
- Provide advice, conduct privacy impact assessments, and support across the company as a privacy subject matter expert.
- Support the Sr. Counsel (Privacy Officer), Privacy Section with reporting on global privacy projects and initiatives.
- Honesty, trustworthiness, and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above.

Education and Experience Information:
- A . degree and membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
- Must have between 5-8 years of related, practical legal experience working in a law firm or corporate environment, including direct experience applying . and . privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines in a business context.
- In-house experience in a multinational corporation or top-tier law firm is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ demonstrable experience in operationalizing data privacy experience, which could have been in a compliance, legal, information security, information technology, or consulting capacity.
- Practical, hands-on privacy experience, and certifications such as CIPP or CIPT are strongly preferred.
- Involvement in global cross-company privacy programs and/or initiatives, including GDPR.
- Experience drafting privacy compliance language and documentation for consumer products or services.
- Experience providing practical advice on privacy-enhancing technologies, such as through privacy impact assessments for consumer products or services.
- Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to express complex and technical issues in understandable language within the company, and with clients and other stakeholders.
- Collaborative, team player with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of executives.
- Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously, with strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to emergencies, organize and schedule work effectively.
- Ability to travel internationally as required, up to 20%.
- Eligible to work unrestricted in the United States.

Salary Information:
- The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $210,000 to $220,000 for Los Angeles & San Diego, CA, and $220,000 to $235,000 for San Mateo, CA.
- In addition to the annual base salary, this role has an annual bonus target of 17%.
- This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors which may include the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
