Job Title: Amicus Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
The Amicus Attorney will report to the Legal Director and collaborate with other attorneys and staff across different departments. The key responsibilities include:

- Evaluating and tracking requests for amicus support.
- Identifying opportunities for strategic amicus participation.
- Drafting amicus briefs and supporting documents.
- Maintaining metrics on amicus victories and other key performance indicators.
- Updating amicus pages on the organization's website and drafting related blog posts.
- Working with the Communications team to ensure accurate coverage of the organization's amicus filings.
- Coordinating with allied organizations on amicus briefs.
- Engaging in media appearances, public speaking, and educating the public on the organization's amicus efforts.
- Periodic travel and work on weekends and evenings, as required by litigation demands.

Education and Experience Information:
- Candidates must have at least three years of civil-litigation experience.
- Graduation from an ABA-accredited law school is required.
- Membership in the bar of the jurisdiction where they are based is necessary.
- A federal judicial clerkship is ideal but not mandatory.
- Candidates should possess excellent written advocacy, legal research, planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure is expected.
- Ability to articulate the organization's mission and explain legal concepts to students and non-attorneys is crucial.

Salary Information:
- The projected salary range is $70,000 to $90,000, based on experience and education level.
- The organization conducts periodic evaluations that may result in raises or bonuses for outstanding performance.
