Job Title: Senior Director, Restructuring Tax Services
Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Director in the Restructuring Tax Services team, your primary responsibilities include advising both public and private companies on complex restructuring tax issues. Your tasks will encompass:
- Supporting the team in addressing issues such as cancellation of debt income (CODI), significant debt modifications, consolidated attribute reduction, and both in-court and out-of-court restructuring arrangements.
- Engaging in cash tax modeling and understanding section 382 limitations.
- Conducting thorough research and analysis of pertinent tax and bankruptcy codes and regulations to provide insightful guidance.
- Preparing detailed summaries of financial information for both public and private companies to support data-driven decision-making.
- Building and maintaining financial models and management presentations to facilitate effective client communication.
- Participating in discussions with clients and their advisors to provide comprehensive restructuring tax advice.
- Contributing to business development initiatives as the practice grows, showcasing your ability to support a dynamic and expanding team.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for this position should possess:
- A CPA, JD (preferably with a bachelor's degree in accounting), Masters in Taxation, or LLM.
- At least 9 years of relevant experience in a mergers and acquisitions tax practice at a Big 4 firm, Big Law firm, or a similar organization, with at least 6+ years specifically in restructuring tax.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Robust analytical skills with a talent for dissecting complex problems and developing effective solutions.
- High proficiency in spreadsheets, with demonstrated capability to manage and manipulate large data sets.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
- A strong desire to learn and grow professionally, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to train and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Senior Director, Restructuring Tax Services position is $175,000 - $225,000 annually. This figure is dependent on various factors, including education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition to the base salary, company offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and company performance.
