Tax Transaction Advisory Services - SALT Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Transaction Advisory Services - SALT Manager will play a critical role in the company by serving as a technical tax resource for State and Local Taxes (SALT) on M&A transactions. The responsibilities include:
- Providing tax structuring and tax due diligence services as part of Tax Transaction Advisory Services.
- Delivering state and local compliance services and offering value-added consulting solutions related to multi-state income tax, franchise tax, sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and property tax matters.
- Applying technical expertise to a variety of buy and sell-side transactions, focusing on the State and Local tax implications of tax structuring projects, tax modeling of after-tax proceeds, transaction reviews, and tax due diligence.
- Assisting with the implementation of tax planning opportunities identified in the SALT area during diligence and managing any findings.
- Providing coaching and mentoring to staff to advance their individual skills and competencies.
- Developing and executing a practice development plan, which includes networking, new client development, and client expansion activities.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 5 years of recent tax experience in public accounting with a specialization in SALT tax is required.
- Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree.
- A CPA or Bar License is required.
- Proficiency in tax planning and reporting issues relevant for corporate consolidated returns, S corporation returns, partnership returns, and state tax returns.
- Experience advising clients on the tax implications of various transactions.
- Experience supervising staff on engagements and managing client relationships.
- Approximately 25% overnight travel is required.
Salary Information:
The compensation for this position is commensurate with technical skills and experience and is provided in accordance with applicable state requirements. The monthly base salary range for Colorado and Illinois is $8, to $15,. Compensation is subject to geographic location and relevant state regulations.
