Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Seattle, WA, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented attorney with 3-7 years of relevant experience to join its nationally respected practice focused on energy, environmental, and infrastructure matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong transactional background with an emphasis on renewable energy, natural resources, and infrastructure development. This opportunity is suited for an attorney seeking to work in a dynamic and collaborative legal environment representing clients on sophisticated projects and transactions across the energy sector.

Duties:

  • Manage and advise on complex transactions in the energy and natural resources industries

  • Draft and negotiate documents for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures

  • Structure and review project development agreements, including build-transfer arrangements

  • Negotiate commercial contracts such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Agreements, and Shared Facilities Agreements

  • Draft and negotiate procurement contracts for equipment and materials used in renewable energy projects

  • Handle engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts related to energy generation facilities

  • Support energy financing transactions, including debt and equity investments in projects and infrastructure assets

  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure seamless client service

  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships through strategic legal advice

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of experience practicing law at a major law firm or in-house with a focus on energy, environmental, or infrastructure law

  • Demonstrated proficiency in handling renewable energy transactions

  • Familiarity with EPC contracts and commercial energy-related agreements

  • Experience in oil and gas is a plus

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Superior verbal and written communication abilities

  • Commitment to high standards of client service and professional integrity

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited . law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with at least one . State Bar

  • Eligibility for Washington State Bar admission (if not already admitted)

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape of the energy sector

  • Proficiency in complex drafting, negotiation, and due diligence processes

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team-based culture

  • Adept at advising clients on commercial and operational risk management
