A law firm in New York City is actively seeking a Junior Private Client Services Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience. The ideal candidate should have expertise in trusts and estates, transfer tax, and associated income tax areas of the law. Some experience in the field is required, with preference given to candidates who have completed or are in the process of completing LLMs in taxation or estate planning. Significant and meaningful experience in international tax planning is preferred. The successful candidate must be currently licensed or eligible to become licensed to practice law in New York.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support in trusts and estates, transfer tax, and associated income tax matters.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of estate plans and tax strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex tax issues.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including wills, trusts, and other estate planning instruments.
  • Collaborate with clients, financial advisors, and other professionals to achieve client goals.
  • Advise on international tax planning matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
  • Assist with the administration of trusts and estates.

 

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in trusts and estates, transfer tax, and associated income tax areas.
  • Completion or in-process of completing LLMs in taxation or estate planning preferred.
  • Significant and meaningful experience in international tax planning is preferred.
  • Currently licensed or eligible to become licensed to practice law in New York.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • LLMs in taxation or estate planning (completed or in progress) are preferred.

 

Certifications:

Current or eligibility for licensure to practice law in New York.

 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of trusts and estates, transfer tax, and income tax laws.
  • Proficient in legal research and analysis.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents related to estate planning.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with clients and professionals.
  • Knowledge and experience in international tax planning.
