Job Title: Student Intern
Job Responsibilities:
- Interns are assigned to a specific section within the Division of Law, allowing them to specialize in areas such as education law, civil rights litigation, complex financial transactions, or child protection proceedings.
- Perform the full range of law clerk responsibilities, including conducting legal research and writing.
- Attend and observe court proceedings, client meetings, depositions, and other legal events.
- Participate in training sessions offered to Deputy Attorneys General.
Education and Experience Information:
- The internship is open to law students only.
- Students must be enrolled in a law program and interested in gaining practical experience in civil law.
Salary Information:
- The internship is unpaid.
Additional Information:
- The internship program is available during the summer break, fall semester, and spring semester.
- Interns have the opportunity to work in one of 11 sections based in Newark, 14 sections in Trenton, or 1 in Voorhees.
- Application deadlines for the summer program are March 5.
