Job Title: Tax Manager, Specialized Tax Services Partnerships

Job Responsibilities:

As a Tax Manager in the Specialized Tax Services Partnerships, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, specifically focusing on partnership-related matters. Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing expert advice on partnership taxation, including section 704(b) and taxable income allocations, capital account maintenance, liability analysis and allocations, section 734(b) and 743(b) adjustment calculations, and Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) calculations.
- Applying your knowledge and experience to understand potential partnership taxation issues and assist in the preparation of partnership-specific computations.
- Actively participating in the leadership team of the Partnership Practice and contributing to the development of the group.
- Engaging in process improvement and team-building initiatives while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Acting as a source of guidance to other team members.

Tax Specialization:

- Developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding partnership taxation.
- Conducting research to identify complex issues and framing them clearly for efficient analysis.
- Training associates and senior associates on research skills and tax issue analysis, involving firm specialists as needed.

Tax Consulting:

- Assisting with developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits, particularly by minimizing current and future taxes.
- Applying a combination of tax knowledge and business/industry knowledge to recommend solutions.
- Managing client expectations and implementing applicable firm strategies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Supervising associates and senior associates on all projects and reviewing their work.
- Providing feedback and training on current software tools.
- Acting as a career advisor, managing workload, and providing performance feedback to associates and senior associates.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:

- Required: Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Accountancy or Taxation.

Experience:

- Required: Five or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services.
- Required: Specialized partnership experience.
- Preferred: Prior supervisory experience and private equity experience at both fund and portfolio company levels.

License/Certifications:

- Preferred: CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) or equivalent.
- Preferred: Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role.

Software:

- Preferred: Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred: Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software.

- Ability to delegate work effectively and manage a team of tax professionals.
- Strong analytical, research, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
