Job Title: Staff Attorney – Homeless Prevention Program

Job Responsibilities:
The Staff Attorney in the Homeless Prevention Program at the organization is tasked with advocating on behalf of individuals who are at imminent risk of homelessness. Key responsibilities include:

- Participating in the intake process for each family to gather all relevant information.
- Evaluating the situational causes of first-time eviction and assessing family finances to ensure sustainability of rental obligations.
- Ensuring that assistance provided is one-time and effective in preventing homelessness.
- Negotiating with landlords and preparing formal settlement stipulations for court filing if necessary.
- Making recommendations for rental assistance based on thorough evaluations.
- Handling a large caseload and performing any additional tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess:

- A demonstrable awareness and sensitivity to the needs of disadvantaged populations.

Salary Information:
