Job Title: Associate General Counsel, R&D Innovation Legal (Immunology)
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and provide strategic counsel to senior leaders within the R&D and corporate strategy organizations on legal and regulatory issues impacting pipeline development, government agency engagement, and product innovation. The matters assigned have significant impact on the company overall.
- Serve as an embedded member within the Immunology therapeutic area to contribute as a key member of disease area strategy teams responsible for long-term R&D and innovation strategies. The focus is on pipeline development and FDA and IRA considerations when assessing strategic approaches, rather than FDA advertising and promotional considerations.
- Educate other legal departments and business stakeholders on emerging laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting the company’s pipeline and R&D.
- Proactively identify highly complex legal issues related to assigned matters, develop creative and alternative solutions, and implement resolutions.
- Adopt a business-oriented and creative approach to problem-solving.
- Identify unmet needs and future legal issues and proactively propose strategies to optimize outcomes and results for the company.
- Advise senior leadership and is recognized by these clients as both an expert in the substantive area and relied upon for individual advice.
- Report to the Vice President of the R&D Innovation and Global Alliances Legal team at the company.
Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctorate and currently admitted to the bar in at least one . state.
- Minimum of 10+ years (15+ preferred) of relevant experience practicing in-house at a pharmaceutical company, as a member of a nationally recognized law firm in a life sciences practice, or as an attorney for a government agency, or any combination of the above.
- Previous experience working as in-house counsel at a large pharmaceutical company is preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical laws and regulations impacting drug development, rather than promotional considerations, to help business clients assess issues in a highly regulated landscape.
- Must possess excellent executive presentation skills and be comfortable presenting complicated information accurately and concisely to senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams collaboratively.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment while handling multiple priorities.
- Expected to be in the office three days a week.
Salary Information:
- The compensation range for this position is $177,000 - $336,000. The actual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including geographic location, and the company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
- The role offers a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
- The job is eligible to participate in short-term and long-term incentive programs.
