Job Title: Corporate Counsel, Customer Trust
Job Responsibilities:
The Corporate Counsel for Customer Trust will be part of the Amazon Legal team, specifically supporting the Worldwide Customer Trust (WWCT) unit. The primary responsibilities include providing business line legal support to protect the Amazon store. The attorney will work directly with brands and collaborate with product, brand relations, and technology teams to develop scalable solutions that aid in protecting intellectual property, reporting issues, and ensuring accurate representation of brands in the store. Key job responsibilities include:
- Advising on a broad range of product, commercial, and regulatory matters.
- Directly advising the leadership team and influencing business direction.
- Supporting the development of AI and other novel science techniques to protect Amazon's store at scale.
- Advising on pre-litigation legal disputes.
- Working cross-functionally, particularly with brand relations and intellectual property specialist legal teams.
- Leading strategic advice on external engagement and legislative initiatives.
- Building processes that address risk while allowing Amazon the flexibility to protect customers quickly.
Education and Experience Information:
Basic qualifications for this role include a Juris Doctor degree and membership in one state bar or equivalent, along with over five years of legal experience. Preferred qualifications include a mix of experience in corporate law firms and in-house roles, as well as experience working on intellectual property matters, particularly trademark issues.
Salary Information:
The compensation for this position reflects the cost of labor across several . geographic markets. The base pay ranges from $138,500 per year in the lowest geographic market to $229,000 per year in the highest geographic market. Pay is influenced by factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, Amazon offers a total compensation package that may include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
