A law firm seeks a Labor and Employment Litigation Attorney in Houston, Texas, to represent employees in state and federal employment disputes on a remote basis, with occasional in-person appearances.
Duties
Manage plaintiff-side employment law matters in state and federal courts, including drafting complaints and motions.
Conduct depositions, attend mediations, and appear at hearings, coordinating logistics for in-person proceedings.
Perform legal research and prepare briefs, memoranda, and client communications.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies and maintain case files.
Requirements
3–7 years of civil litigation experience in state and federal courts.
Demonstrated background in employment law representing employees.
Ability to handle remote work while traveling for necessary in-person proceedings.
Strong advocacy, analytical, and organizational skills.
Education
Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications
Active membership in the Texas Bar.
Skills
Proficiency in legal research and litigation drafting.
Effective oral advocacy and negotiation abilities.
Client-focused communication and interpersonal skills.
Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
